Creshy Trouser Fit Engine

Trouser Predictor

Logic-based sizing for Chinos, Jeans, and Formals.

Technical Tool Overview: Trouser Fit Predictor

This tool focuses on the Anatomical Proportion of the lower body. While jackets rely on the shoulders, trousers rely on the Waist-to-Hip Ratio. If the seat of the trouser is too tight, the pockets will “flare,” and the zipper will experience excessive stress.

Functional Logic & Architecture

  • The Waist-to-Seat Calculation: The algorithm checks the difference between uWaist and uHip. In standard tailoring, a 6-inch difference is “Average.” If a user has a larger difference, the tool suggests a “Relaxed” cut even if they chose “Slim” to prevent fabric tearing.
  • The Inseam Ratio: Instead of asking for a complicated “Inseam” measurement (which most people don’t know), the tool uses Height-to-Length mapping. It calculates the standard inseam based on the user’s total height:
    • Short (S): ~28-30″ Inseam.
    • Regular (R): ~32″ Inseam.
    • Long (L): ~34″ Inseam.
  • The Style Ease Variable: The uStyle dropdown adds a mathematical offset to the “Ease” calculation, simulating how much fabric will wrap around the thigh.

Features & Capabilities

  • Length Prediction: Automatically handles the conversion between total height and trouser inseam, a common pain point for online shoppers.
  • Style-Aware Advice: The tool provides dynamic text feedback based on the user’s “Seat” measurement, warning them if the fabric might feel too tight when sitting.
  • Standardized Sizing: Outputs industry-standard sizes (e.g., 34R, 32S) which are used by major manufacturers and e-commerce platforms like Rangeen Jora.

Industry Use Cases

  • E-Commerce Personalization: For DIHOD Software House projects, this can be used to pre-filter a product catalog so users only see items available in their specific predicted size.
  • Custom Tailoring (Bespoke): Can be used as a “Preliminary Intake” tool for custom tailors to get a rough idea of a client’s silhouette before a physical fitting.
  • Inventory Planning: Helping brands understand the “Average Size” of their visitors to optimize their stock levels (e.g., stocking more ‘R’ vs ‘S’ lengths).
