How is the Due Date Calculated?

Most pregnancies last around 40 weeks (or 280 days) from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Our calculator uses Naegele’s Rule, which adds 7 days to the LMP and then adds 9 months. At DIHOD Software House, we’ve fine-tuned this for Creshy Tools to also account for variations in your cycle length for better accuracy.

Understanding Your Trimesters

Pregnancy is divided into three stages, each with unique developments:

First Trimester (Weeks 1-12)

  • Critical stage for the formation of the baby’s organs.
  • Many women experience “morning sickness” and fatigue.

Second Trimester (Weeks 13-26)

  • Often called the “honeymoon phase” as energy levels improve.
  • The baby’s movements (quickening) can usually be felt.

Important Dates to Track

  1. Conception Date: Usually happens about 2 weeks after your LMP.
  2. End of First Trimester: A major milestone for reduced miscarriage risk.
  3. The Big Day: Your Estimated Due Date (EDD). Remember, only about 4% of babies are born exactly on their due date!

Planning in Karachi

  • Healthcare: Once you have your estimated date, start looking for the best maternity hospitals in Clifton, DHA, or Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
  • Work-Life Balance: Professionals at Creshy Group or Creshy Studio can use this timeline to plan their maternity leave and handovers effectively.
Sufyan’s Pro Tip: This calculator is an estimate based on averages. An ultrasound scan by a gynecologist in Karachi is the most accurate way to confirm your due date, especially if your cycles are irregular!
