Extract every page into a separate file

Description

The PDF Splitter is a document manipulation utility that allows you to break down a large PDF document into smaller, individual files. This is particularly useful when you only need a specific section of a report, a single invoice from a bulk set, or separate pages for different recipients. The tool identifies the page markers within the PDF structure and creates new, independent documents for each page while maintaining the original layout, fonts, and internal links.

How to Use Guide

  • Upload: Drag your multi-page PDF into the orange upload zone.
  • Verify: Once the file name appears, the tool is ready to process the internal structure.
  • Split: Click the Extract All Pages button.
  • Save: The tool will generate individual PDF files for each page. Note: Most browsers will prompt you to save each file or a combined archive.
  • Security: All splitting is handled locally in your browser memory via pdf-lib. Your documents are never sent to a external server.

Key Benefits

  • File Management: Reduce massive file sizes by extracting only the pages you actually need.
  • Privacy: Share only relevant pages of a document with third parties instead of the entire file.
  • Zero Quality Loss: The extraction process does not “print” the page; it copies the actual data objects, ensuring 100% original quality.
  • Format Preservation: All text remains searchable and all high-resolution images remain intact.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I split a PDF into specific ranges? While the basic version extracts all pages, you can customize the code to accept ranges like “1-5” or “10-12” by modifying the page index array in the copyPages function.

Does it work on password-protected files? No. For security and legal reasons, you must first unlock the PDF before our tool can read and split the individual pages.

Will the file size be smaller? Yes. Each individual page will be significantly smaller than the original multi-page document, making them easier to send via email.
