Cuff Estimator
Precision wrist sizing for formal attire.
Technical Tool Overview: Shirt Cuff Estimator
The Shirt Cuff Estimator addresses the “Wrist-to-Garment Ratio.” In tailoring, the cuff must be wide enough to allow the hand to pass through comfortably, yet narrow enough to stop at the base of the thumb without sliding over the palm.
Functional Logic & Architecture
- The Watch Offset: This is the tool’s most advanced feature. A dress watch adds approximately 0.5″ to 0.75″ to the wrist’s circumference. If a user wears a heavy “Dive Watch,” the tool increases the ease to prevent the cuff from getting stuck behind the watch face.
- Standard Ease Constants:
- Slim Fit (No Watch): Wrist + 1.75″ (Provides enough room for the hand to pass).
- Standard (With Watch): Wrist + 2.25″ (The industry default for high-end ready-to-wear).
- Relaxed (Large Watch): Wrist + 2.75″ (Ensures the cuff slides over a chunky timepiece).
- Fractional Precision: Cuffs are often measured in quarter-inch (0.25″) increments. The JavaScript logic uses
Math.round(total * 4) / 4to match professional tailoring standards.
Features & Capabilities
- Watch-Aware Calculation: Allows users to choose their “Wrist Profile,” making it highly relevant for the modern professional audience of Creshy.
