Shrinkage Tool
Calculate post-wash fabric loss.
Technical Tool Overview: Laundry Shrinkage Estimator
The Shrinkage Estimator uses Polymer Relaxation Logic. When natural fibers are woven, they are kept under high tension. Once submerged in water (and especially heat), the fibers “relax” and shorten.
Functional Logic & Architecture
- Fiber-Specific Constants:
- Cotton (5%): The industry standard for high-quality lawn.
- Linen (8%): One of the highest shrinkage rates due to the loose cellular structure of flax.
- Rayon (10%): Chemically treated wood pulp fibers that are highly unstable in water.
- Thermal Acceleration: The tool includes a Wash Temperature multiplier. Heat provides the kinetic energy needed for fibers to contract further. A hot wash can increase shrinkage by 1.5x compared to a cold wash.
- Pattern-Cutting Buffer: The tool calculates the “Total Loss.” For a professional tailor at DIHOD Software House, this number is added to the “Cutting Master’s” measurements to ensure the final garment remains the correct size after the customer washes it at home.
Features & Capabilities
- Sleek 4px UI: High-density input fields for a professional “Utility” feel.
- Post-Wash Prediction: Tells the user exactly what the length will be after the first cycle.
- Risk Mitigation: Helps brands like Rangeen Jora reduce customer complaints regarding “Size Change” after washing.
